Registration Company (Name included)

A (Pty) Ltd or Private Company is a legal establishment on its own and has to be registered as a taxpayer in its own right. There is no restriction on the number of shareholders it can have but is restricted from offering its shares to the general public.

VAT Registration

VAT is levied at the standard rate of 15% on the supply of goods and services by registered vendors. A vendor making taxable supplies of more than R1 million per annum must register for VAT.

Workman's Compensation

The function of Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases (COID) is to compensate an employee in the case of injury or disease. The company must be registered for COID with the Department of Labour.
